Architectural Intelligence: How Designers
Tinkerers
and Architects Designed the Digital Landscape
Architecting Interactivity examines the people
projects
and collaborations emerging from architecture and computational practices such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics
and argues that they poured the foundations for contemporary design. It uses in-depth case studies on Christopher Alexander
Richard Saul Wurman
Cedric Price
and Nicholas Negroponte to tell this story of how AI
cybernetics
and architecture formed the basis for information architecture
interaction design
and UX.

The uptake of mobile telephony in the developing world has been remarkable. I track the research literature on the topic
and contribute to it when possible. I am currently exploring \"mobile centric\" internet use among low-income communities in urban South Africa.
