With the necessity of a new organizational model, impelled by the new strategic capacities required by the Multinational Companies to compete in the global market; the Multinationals are needing executives with knowledge, abilities and sophistication able to operate under this new model. One of these executives is the Country General Manager or Subsidiary Country Manager. Through direct interviews to 5 subsidiaries general managers of the Multinational Information Tecnology companies in Venezuela, six roles or generic functions were identified that the Subsidiary General Manager is fulfulling. The object of this article is to emphasize the new abilities that must have a Country General Manager or Subsidiary Country Manager so that she or he will be successful in the changing surroundings in which it must evolve.
