Student Nurse Intern Program Coordinator
Developed, planned, and moderated 8-week paid internship for nursing students entering into senior level baccalaureate programs. Planned and led 2 week orientation program, with focus on oncology and general nursing lectures and discussion. Secured clinical rotations for students and liased with preceptors and nurse managers. Moderated internship with interns’ respective nursing schools, developed formal plan for evaluation based on student performance. Led weekly journal discussions as well as oncology-based speaker series.
Oncology Nurse
Clinical assessment and management of complex oncology patients, post-operative care, wound care, administration of IV therapies and transfusions. Additional responsibilities include precepting nursing students and orientees and charge nurse duties.

Coordinator of the online RN-BSN program. Lecture faculty in online and in-class courses: Pathophysiology, Research Methods, Med/Surg Nursing. Implemented innovative teaching strategies to engage and motivate students to critically think and practice evidenced-based nursing care. Instituted DEU experience on medical/ surgical inpatient unit for junior and senior level nursing students. Research interests and experience include African American breast cancer survivorship and e-mentoring program for undergraduate nursing students. Active member of nursing and college committees.
