Michelle Claville is the Principal Investigator and Project Director of The Nanoscience Project at Hampton University, otherwise known ad NanoHU. NanoHU is a $3.4 million project that is funded by the National Science Foundation's HBCU-UP. By way of NanoHU, undergraduates at Hampton University earn a nanoscience minor while engaging in year-round nanoscience research, faculty members receive research support and professional development, high school students conduct research in nanoscience and/or nanotechnology, and k12 students are introduced to the wonders of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). NanoHU is responsible for preparing scores of underrepresented young people for excellence in STEM fields.
