Science Director
As Science Director at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute I developed and managed new education and science research programs. I established collaborations with colleges and universities and high schools, developed methods for and visualization of science, and helped develop curricula for PARI’s science, technology, engineering, and math mission. I also taught undergraduate and high school special courses, and developed telescope and imaging instrumentation. To support these programs, I wrote successful grant proposals to the National Science Foundation, NASA and private foundations, acquiring fund raising experience.
