Villanova University is a Roman Catholic institution of higher learning founded by the Order of Saint Augustine in 1842
making it the oldest Catholic University in Pennsylvania. On its suburban campus close to Philadelphia
Villanova provides a comprehensive education rooted in the liberal arts; a shared commitment to the Augustinian ideals of truth
unity
and love; and a community dedicated to serving others.\n\nA wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs are offered through the University’s four colleges: the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
the School of Business
the College of Engineering
and the College of Nursing
as well as the Charles Widger School of Law. With a total enrollment that exceeds 10
000 students
Villanova is the largest Catholic university in Pennsylvania.\n\nEstablished in 2001
the Center for Research and Fellowships (CRF) serves all Villanova students
undergraduate and graduate alike. Our five-person team provides support in the areas of research
grants
scholarships
and fellowships
and has helped connect hundreds of Villanova students to programs of research
scholarship
and teaching around the world.\n\nThe CRF team also administers the Villanova University Presidential Scholars Program
awarding our first-rate
renewable
merit-based scholarship that covers full tuition
room
board (up to 19 meals/week)
fees
professional development funds
and the cost of textbooks for eight consecutive semesters. Representing diverse intellectual
social
ethnic
and economic backgrounds
Presidential Scholars are transformational leaders both on and off campus who have demonstrated a love of learning and a commitment to enhancing both their local and broader civic communities.
