A passionate advocate of music and music education, Ms. Bach's
professional experience spans the spectrum of a professional pianist: junior to advanced piano pedagogy; concerto appearances with orchestras, recitalist; chamber music; touring soloist; instrumental, choral and vocal accompanying and coaching.

Ms. Bach’s interest in the collaborative arts began during a decade spent as a scholarship student at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Following her studies at Eastman, Ms. Bach simultaneously pursued two Master of Music degrees, in performance and accompanying, at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. Awarded graduate assistantships in both areas of study, Ms. Bach gained extensive experience in working with young singers and training advanced pianists.

She has performed with several of Canada’s foremost choral conductors: Lydia Adams, John Tuttle, Robert Cooper and Doreen Rao. She has also appeared as the master class accompanist for the University of Toronto’s visiting artists: Elly Ameling, Gerald Finley, Marilyn Horne, Rudolph Jansen and Martin Isepp. Her recital appearances have included performances with soprano Monica Whicher, Jamie Sommerville (Principle Horn Boston Symphony) and Metropolitan bass Paul Plishka. Mia has participated in the Ukrainian Art Song project recording the songs of Lysenko with Canadian baritone Russell Braun.

An instructor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music, Mia’s musical and teaching gifts have positioned her as a much-valued instructor and collaborative pianist.
As a performer, coach and educator, she is comprehensive in her approach to musical preparation and performance artistry, and is esteemed for her effective nurturing and development of performing artists.

In July 2015 Ms. Bach will join the faculty of ROMESMARTS in Rome, Italy, a summer music program open to all instruments and voice.
