Professional writer of technical, academic, and creative text. Working in various positions has enabled me to write in multiple genres. In respect to my professional and technical experience, I have written: proposals, web content and blogs, analyzing data, white papers, reports, and news letters. In respect to my creative writing experience, I have written: short stories, poetry, memoirs and novels.

I have also served in the capacity of proofreader and editor within several platforms. As a proofreader, I have gained the ability of reading typescript to detect errors and mark for correction. I am skilled at reading proofs against copies by standardize code. As an editor, I have worked collaboratively with writers to help improve the readability of each document. In this setting, I verified facts, dates, and statistics using standard reference sources that reflected the clients brand voice and strategic marketing objectives.

I have worked as a Writer and Instructor on projects that are either collaborative and independent that required using research methods and research methodology. In each setting, I gained expertise in formatting text, identifying the audience, and communicating ideas effectively through writing.

I have several years experience working in the capacity of both Instruction and Administration. I would like to combine expertise and become a director of a learning or writing center.

    •DRE 98 Integrated Reading and Writing III - This course develops proficiency in integrated and contextualized reading and writing skills and strategies. Topics include reading and writing processes, critical thinking strategies, and recognition and composition of well-developed, coherent, and unified texts; except where noted, these topics are taught using texts primarily in the Lexile® range of 1185 to 1385 in order to prepare students to be career and college ready. Upon completion, students should be able to apply those skills toward understanding a variety of texts at the career and college ready level and toward composing a documented essay.

    •ENG 111: Writing and Inquiry- This course is designed to develop the ability to produce clear writing in a variety of genres and formats using a recursive process. Emphasis includes inquiry, analysis, effective use of rhetorical strategies, thesis development, audience awareness, and revision. Upon completion, students should be able to produce unified, coherent, well-developed essays using standard written English. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a general education course in English Composition. This is a Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) course.
