Good
Dyer sticks to the syllabus. She makes her slides available on-line. This is a no surprises course. If you do careful work on the study sheets you will get an easy A.
Good
Professor Dyer is a good lecturer. Sometimes she beats around the bush but, overall she is easy to understand. If you take notes only Minimal studying is needed for exams. She is biased left politically, but it doesn't affect her tests.
Poor
Her lectures were pretty rough, the class was easy. Put in the work to study and you'll get an A. If you ever have a question for her, just look at the syllabus, don't ask.
Awesome
Prof. Dyer is one of the funniest professor ever. She really knows her stuff and she is ridiculously intelligent. Her slides can be quite confusing but it is just really key points. She really explains everything with details and examples so you should attend class. I definitely enjoyed her class!
Average
You'll pass the tests as long as you fill out the study worksheets she provides. I wouldn't suggest buying the textbook because I literally never opened it. Students are only graded by a few things and she doesn't give any kind of extra credit. I seldom went to class but if you went the extra mile, you will easily get an A from her.
Good
If you fill out and study the worksheets she gives, tests will be pretty straightforward for you. Attendance isn't necessary because she only says what's on her slides but sometimes she says helpful things. You won't have to read the book as well. I actually made As on every exam even without buying it. She's a solid choice for 207.
Poor
This is an extremely dull professor, she doesn't make any effort to do anything apart from reading the slides. The slides are uploaded on line, so there's basically no point in attending the class. Not an approachable or friendly person, so there's no point in even asking for help. Just take the class with someone else.
Poor
Professor Dyer's class is one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. However, you should beware that she is probably the most boring professors I have ever had. I do not think that going to class is necessary because all the material is one the slides and in class she did not elaborate at all. I aced all the tests because the review she gives is very comprehensive.
Good
Professor Dyer is better than the reviews indicate. Her lectures are boring but she knows the subject well. My advice is to go to class at least one time a week to keep up with the info. You will be fine as long as you study the review worksheets before the tests and go through the slides. Don't bother buying the text book. She also gives extra credit.
Good
Professor Dyer is a solid choice. She is remarkably approachable and very easy to talk with, so do not be afraid to ask questions. Her lectures are easy to understand and it's clear that she has devoted care and thought to every topic. You will be fine as long as you pay attention and take notes. The textbook is not used very much.
Awful
I don't know why all these reviews are good, since I had the complete opposite experience in Professor Dyer's class. For the first exam I got an A and kept up the same study habits. However, my grades continued to drop, same as everyone in the class. Unfortunately, I ended up failing the final exam. All of her exam questions were very deep. It requires much more time for further understanding the material than she expresses.
Poor
Prof. Dyer isn't a good prof! Her lectures are tedious because she speaks in a robotic manner. If you ask her a question, she will be impolite and tell you to read her notes/textbook instead. She provides review sheets and posts her slides online. It's simple to pass, but an A needs effort.
Good
Professor Dyer is not bad. She goes through the slides at a slower pace than they were posted online. Most of your grades come from exams, so do well on them. She notes fairly and will provide extra credit though.
Good
Professor Dyer is very knowledgeable about what she teaches. However, her lectures are just her going through the PowerPoint slides. So attending class isn't necessarily beneficial in my opinion. In addition, she produces study guides for exams, which are great in theory until you see that the wording of each exam question is so different and unnecessarily confusing.
Average
Professor Dyer publishes her slides. These are useful if you need to miss a day or more because exams often have PowerPoint slide material. Weekly participation is graded quickly, but she drops two of your lowest scores. The exam is not difficult as well. The textbook will help your grade but is not necessary.
Good
Getting an A in 207 in her class is a total breeze. If you take time to complete her worksheets, you'll be more than ready for the exams. Honestly, my high school government class was tougher than this one. Her lectures might not be the most exciting, but you should still attend them. If you don't, it's easy to fall behind in a class like this which can be dull. And if you make just a basic effort, you can easily score a B. But, if you put your heart into it, getting an A is super simple. Just remember, the tests are vital.
