    Ph.D.

The central theme of my research is - does an organization have a culture which promotes and rewards the timely recognition and resolution of safety and security concerns? When the margins for human error are small and the potential consequences of safety or security incidents are catastrophic

it is vital that all members of the workforce feel they have avenues to raise safety and security concerns without repercussions. \n\nIn many organizations

it is normal for some members of the workforce to perceive there to be negative individual outcomes for reporting safety or security concerns

especially during times of high stress for the organization. These might include fears of losing their job or of being passed over for a promotion

but are more often interpersonal issues

such as fears about having a difficult conversation with a superior or being ostracized by co-workers for \"causing problems\" or holding-up work.\n\nMy work consists primarily of generating and demonstrating the psychometric properties of surveys

leading and recording notes from interviews and focus groups with members of various workforces

and analyzing and interpreting these quantitative and qualitative data for insights to help leaders of organizations improve their cultures.
