Physical Hydrogeologist seeking opportunities in the environmental, energy and government.
I most recently worked as a Staff Professional in Environmental Services at SCS Engineers. I conducted fieldwork including soil, groundwater sampling and oversight of well installations using Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Coordinated with project stakeholders and conducted oversight in the implementation of soil management plans and dewatering plans. Drafted groundwater compliance reports for multiple classes of landfills throughout South Florida. Created geodatabases and figures using ArcGIS products for use in field data collection and in reports. Conducted QA/QC of data tabulation, laboratory reports, figures, and reports.
As a Hydrologist I with the Northwest Florida Water Management District in the Bureau of Groundwater Regulation. I reviewed Water Use Permit applications and created technical staff reports in accordance with Section 40A-2, Florida Administrative Code. I also assisted various stakeholders with completion of their permit applications.
I completed my Masters in Geological Sciences with a focus on Physical Hydrogeology at SUNY Buffalo where I completed my thesis “WATER SUPPLY IMPACTS DUE TO LARGE VOLUME EXTRACTIONS”. My thesis evaluated potential Hydraulic Fracturing water impacts on a watershed in New York. I utilized ArcGIS coupled with a transient finite difference numerical model to simulate watershed impacts from potential Hydraulic Fracturing development. In order to automate aspects of my thesis I learned how to code in Python, MATLAB and R.
In addition, I worked as a Staff Hydrogeologist at Geosyntec Consultants. I gained further experience working in the field at a variety of sites throughout Florida. I assisted projects that included Phase 1 environmental site assessments, IDW profiling and removal, water quality parameter QA/QC and design, soil and groundwater sampling, long term aquifer performance testing, and contaminant delineation. I also gained experience with client and subcontractor relations, field summary report writing and small project proposal writing.
