I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan and the NSERC/Syncrude Industrial Research Chair in Mine Closure Geochemistry. My research focuses on improving understanding of the geochemical evolution of mine wastes and on novel mine waste management and remediation strategies. More specifically, my research examines how interactions among chemical, biological and physical process influence the release, transport, and attenuation of inorganic and organic contaminants in mining environments.
