Political Leanings:
Liberal | Conservative |
Poor
Professor O'Neal's course is very disorganized. For you to successfully prepare for labs, you have to go out of your way to piece together info to have a proper understanding. I cannot stress it enough, you REALLY have to go through loops and holes to figure out what it is exactly that you should be doing in lab. There is no concise or clear instructions.
Good
Prof. Marvin is very passionate about bio, but he's just really disorganized. He isn't so responsive as well, so ask a TA instead. Here are my suggestions if you plan to take this class: make friends with your UGTAs and ask them for help, attend recitation, and prepare for the lab and join the group project.
Awful
Professor O'neal is a good man. However, he's a terrible professor. He will say on the first day of class that 204 is an easy A and that all instructors can help. Unfortunately, it is untrue. His class structure is poor, with mysterious grading personnel. He did not provide instructions or anything as well. If you ask for instructions or help, you will be directed to the rubric Also, he doesn't have time to answer emails when you have problems.
Awful
The amount of work in Professor O'Neal's class is completely unfair for a two-credit course. It's completely unorganized. His grading is tough as well. Honestly, the course is a disgrace to Stony Brook University.
