Ramsey
I am a college professor and a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst. I worked for the Albany Police Department for 12+ years. Chief Joseph Lumpkin hired me as the Department's first Crime Analyst
and I am one of the first few hundred (300) in the Country to become certified by the California Department of Justice and California State University
at Stanislaus.\n\nThe main functions of my job were to support the crime-fighting efforts of the Department by analyzing where
when
and how crime occurs in our City. Further
I profiled offenders
linked criminals to events
victims and each other
and I crime mapped cases. This information was shared with the Chiefs I worked for and their Command Staff
Detectives
and line level police officers in order to assist operations. Pursuing a longing for academia
I transitioned from the police department to a career in education. After leaving the APD
I became Program Director for Criminal Justice at Darton College. I am currently employed at Albany State University as a Criminal Justice Professor and advisor for the Criminal Justice Club. I hold a PhD in Human Services with a Criminal Justice specialty. I am most proud that I graduated with distinction as a result of achieving a perfect grade point average.\n\nI have a great deal of experience and knowledge of my field
and have taught part-time for various institutions as a criminal justice instructor and general studies instructor. I teach for other institutions that provide online course offerings - as time permits. I have a great deal of affinity for Investigations
Community Policing
Psychology and other Criminal Justice and other behavior-related courses
and the way in which these subjects intertwine. I have taught courses related to these topics (and more) - too numerous times to count - for a variety of institutions. My personal interests include spending time with my family and good friends
traveling
and motivating and molding emerging professionals.
