This was honestly one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Professor Wenthe will only take off half a point instead of marking the whole question wrong. He's definitely an easy grader. You will pass the quizzes and exams as long as you do the assigned homework and pay attention in class. He informs you about the coverage of the quizzes and even gives a study guide.
Awful
I was looking forward to Professor Wenthe's class, but the professor made it boring and hard. I do not think I have learned anything about linguistics. He also takes points off for spelling.
Average
Cares about what he's teaching and he shows it, but he expects everyone to understand everything. The issue is that some of us don't understand the terms and thus don't come to the same understanding as he does. The majority of the class is spent going over homework, and notes are just crammed into the last ten minutes of the class. If you have any interest in linguistics, make a note to not take this class.
Poor
Prof. Mark's class is fine and you will probably get an easy A. However, he's incredibly boring. It seems like the class lasts longer due to the nature of linguistics as well as how it was taught. He gives lots of homework. However, he's a fair grader and he's straightforward with his expectations.
Awful
Regardless of the open book and open resource policy of Professor Wenthe, you'll still be screwed. He has no remorse for his students. He's looking to fail you. Avoid his class at all costs.
