\"Infiltration\" (2014): commssioned work; acrylic gouache & mixed media painting on treated paper mounted on board; 26\" x 20\" x 1.5\" (private collection; Toronto
Canada)
a private commission for a physician directing a critical care facility at a medical centre based in Toronto
Ontario
Canada. The theme is based on the cellular-
molecular-
& tissue-level interactions involved in the pathology of infection & sepsis. I did not want to create a morose
gruesome or dryly academic composition
nor did I want it to be inaccurate. I chose vibrant colors & a semi-abstract approach to render the subject. Words
concepts
& symbols were added along the borders to create interesting diversions in the marginalia that reflected the theme of the piece.
