NOCCCD \"Above and Beyond\" Award
NOCCCD’s Chancellor’s Staff presented its inaugural “Above and Beyond Award” to two recipients at the May 12
2015 Board of Trustees meeting. These employees were recognized for their extraordinary achievement in service to the District. Recipients must be current employees and be nominated by a member of Chancellor’s Staff. The award will not be presented yearly
but rather when an employee truly shines and performs in a way that is conspicuously above and beyond their stated duty.\n\n\"Marc Posner was instrumental in the passing of Measure J
NOCCCD’s $574 million facilities bond measure. Not only did Marc perform his regular duties while working on Measure J for 11 months
but the campaign work was done while off-duty. Marc put in countless hours giving presentations
securing endorsements
creating and managing a stand-alone website and all social media outlets
dealing with media queries
conducting tours
engaging students
reporting to the Board
and phone banking. Marc did all of this not because it was expected of him
but because he loves his campus and truly believed that the bond money would benefit students.\"\n\nhttp://nocccd.edu/documents/AboveandBeyondAward5.13.15.pdf

Afghanistan
and other stations in Operation Enduring Freedom.
The North Orange County Community College District is both proud and humbled that the voters decided to help fund the restoration
renovation and building of facilities for Fullerton College

Crafting a Multi-Campus \"Incident Communications Plan\"

Crafting a Multi-Campus \"Incident Communications Plan\"\n\nColleges with multiple campuses have unique challenges when it comes to communicating with students and constituents
particularly in times of crisis. The PR team at the North Orange County Community College District – with two colleges and a school of continuing education – recently put together a comprehensive “Incident Communications Plan” that was immediately put to the test after a sexual assault
kidnapping and campus lockdown occurred on one of the campuses.\n\nThis presentation covers the process involved in developing the plan; the importance of communicating with outside agencies; how to present the plan to the campus community; and key terms
such as “timely warning” and “emergency notification.”\n\nAndrea Hanstein

The Best Shot Wins
Approved in November 2014 by voters with a super-majority 55% margin
Measure J is the second-largest bond to win approval in Orange County. Measure J supports infrastructure needs at Fullerton and Cypress Colleges by providing access to $574 million for construction projects. Work on the campaign was provided pro bono and conducted outside of my scope of employment. Campaign responsibilities included serving on the core campaign leadership team
providing campus leadership related to the measure
and providing support in a number of areas. Served as \"Social Media/Website Chair\" for the Yes on J campaign — formally known as \"Supporters of Fullerton and Cypress Colleges Yes on J\" — and assist with other aspects of the campaign. Voter approval of Measure J withstood both a recount and legal challenge.

@Cypress Online
@Cypress Online is the official online newsroom for Cypress College. Creating the publication introduced a fundamental shift in focus to a daily storytelling model
which moved the college away from a production-centric model tied to a weekly cycle centered around producing a printed internal newsletter. Implemented the newsroom allowed Cypress College to unify the college's social media presences
which were scattered among various properties such as Facebook
YouTube
and Instagram. While the college continues to rely on these powerful social-sharing tools
the most-important aspects of storytelling from those sites and the college’s other publications are integrated
organized
and published in a central
searchable location.

NOCCCD Incident Communications Plan
In collaboration with direct colleagues from the other entities in the North Orange County Community College District
authored
published
and moved through official approval processes the North Orange County Community College Incident Communications Plan. This plan is the first finalized major component of the NOCCCD’s crisis response plan. A significant component of the plan is that it facilitates a concept of mutual aid
a formal agreement among similarly trained skilled communications professionals to serve as additional resources (including backup
replacement
or support work) during an incident-response scenario. This is critical in the NOCCCD since each entity employs only one such communications professional. The work was presented across the District
including to key leadership groups and the Board of Trustees. In addition
it was presented to peers at both the national (March
2013) the district conferences (September
2012) for the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.

Yom HaShoah Remembrance
Helped plan and implement a recognition of Holocaust survivors and exhibit of Clifford Lester's portraits of them. The event was proposed roughly six weeks ahead of the target date and morphed from a small gathering (planned for 50-75 people) to 500 expected guests. More than 1
000 attended what is certain to be remembered as on of the legendary events in Cypress College's 50-year history.
