Biography

Towson University - Biology

Senior Scientist II, Translational Immunology at Genocea
Mara
Shainheit, PhD
Somerville, Massachusetts
Broadly trained scientist with expertise in the fields of immunology, microbiology, parasitology, infectious disease and molecular biology. Extensive experience with in vivo models of infection (mouse), primary cell culture, flow cytometry, assay development and optimization, bacterial genetics and Tn-Seq.

Highly experienced in developing and implementing innovative classroom pedagogies (microbiology and immunology). Mentored undergraduate and MS students in independent research projects in the field of bacterial pathogenesis. Excellent science communicator, project manager, and collaborator with a specific interest in sciences that improve human health.
