College of the Mainland - Biology
Biology Intructor at Lamar University
Higher Education
Marilynn
Kish-Molina, Ph.D.
Houston, Texas Area
I have over 25 years of college-level teaching experience, primarily in Human Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Nutrition, and General Biology, and a recent (August, 2012) Ph.D. in Public Health specializing in Epidemiology. My dissertation was on MRSA and asymptomatic colonization, but I am interested in a wide-range of topics. I had taught a year of secondary life science in Houston ISD before I started at College of the Mainland, and I'm certifiied to teach secondary biology and life and natural science in Texas. Although I "retired" from College of the Mainland in August, 2015, I would like to work for at least another ten years. I am transitioning in a new career challenge as an educational writer that will utilize my love of teaching and science and all those years of teaching experience. I also plan on continuing my teaching tenure in science, both formally and informally, for many years to come.
I'm also working in real estate investing to complement my passion for helping others in need and my hobbies of decorating, gardening, and remodeling. I have attended numerous workshops on investing, and I am now the Senior Managing Partner of MKM Real Estate Investments LLC.
