I am an Information Technology Master Instructor at the Clark Advanced Learning Center located on the Chastain Campus of Indian River State College. In this role I teach Computer Science classes for the Advanced Technology Department of the college. My most rewarding work involves assisting students become successful in their chosen Information Technology career while obtaining professional certifications in networking and computer repair.
Before joining Indian River State College my background spanned the Information Technology fields of software engineering, systems administration, and systems analysis and design. I worked mainly with city and county governments designing and installing systems while creating algorithms to solve specific problems. I also did consulting work for a local accounting firm. Perhaps the most interesting work I have done was technical support for Marvel Comics computer games.
I'm truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other educators. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favorite part is working with students to understand their career goals. As we go through that collaborative process, I understand how to focus in on what is important to their learning objectives. I find that helping to make students successful is very rewarding.
I have a MS from Nova Southeastern University and a BA from Florida Atlantic University. I also hold a State of Florida professional K-12 teaching certificate and several professional certifications. I am currently working on the e-Learning Professional Masters Certificate program at the University of Central Florida.
I'm always interested in hearing from former colleagues, managers, or just interesting creative people, so feel free to contact me if you'd like to connect.
