Sheaffer
York, Pennsylvania Area
Currently I teach a number of composition and literature courses emphasizing environmental literature, contemplative pedagogy, and composition studies. Most recent courses include "Writings of the Land," "Stories from the Margins," and "The American Short Story."

In addition, I direct both core, writing-intensive courses required of all first year students during their fall and spring semesters. This work intersects with a number of co-curricular areas such as student success, retention, scholarship programs, and general education administration and curriculum.

My current research focuses on the ecocriticism and 20th American literature, specifically the impact of dams on the flow of water and the flow of the imagination in novels of the mid-twentieth century.
