Biography

Montgomery College Rockville - Architecture

Head Coach at Blair Crew
Architecture & Planning
Loreen
Arnold, AIA LEED AP
Washington D.C. Metro Area
For the last decade, my professional career has focused on residential and community design. I have extensive experience with Mid-rise, mixed use buildings, both market rate and workforce focused. My experience includes locations in the eastern seaboard and southern states, as well as the local Washington metropolitan area, and involves a range of complex zoning and entitlement processes in a wide number of jurisdictions. The challenges of creating affordable housing has been a recurring theme in my work, highlighted by my work with programs such as the federally funded HOPE VI program and various state funded tax credit programs. Sustainable Architecture is an integral part of my architectural process.

Experience

  • Blair Crew

    Head Coach

As Head Coach, I manage all aspects of a competitive High School rowing club. We are a 45 rower strong, coed group that practices Fall and Spring seasons, racing in 8 regattas a year. Our students learn the responsibility of participating in a crew activity, benefit from great fitness training and have a tremendous amount of fun! After four years as an assistant coach, I am very excited about taking the helm at Blair Crew.

  • Blair Crew

    Woman's Crew Coach

As the Woman's Coach, I'm part of building an exciting competitive program for high school rowers from Blair High School. Fitness and endurance training, understanding rowing technique and leadership skills are all incorporated into the six day a week activities of this sport club. We look forward to a great Fall season.

  • KTGY Group, Inc.

    Production Director

As a member of a national firm specializing in Multifamily Architecture, I am responsible for management and production of contract documents for mid rise multifamily buildings in the Washington metropolitan area. I am also involved in the entitlement process for a number of buildings proposed on transit oriented sites adjacent to local Metro stations. At KTGY, I continue to pursue my career goal of creating quality communities and developments.

  • Montgomery College

    Adjunct Professor

I teach and have developed college level curriculum for Sustainable and Green Building courses at both the introductory and advanced levels. In addition to building a certificate program for Sustainable Architecture, the courses are intended to provide preparatory study for taking the LEED Green Associates Exam.

  • Blair High School Crew

    Assistant Coach

Coached the Spring Semester Blair High School Crew in weekly rowing practices and during several important regatta competitions. Completed the season with the Varsity Eight Men and Women's Crews competing at Stokesbury in Philadelphia. I greatly enjoyed working with these talented and enthusiastic young rowers and helping them develop their skills in this fantastic sport.

  • Arnold & Arnold

    Partner

I've joined my architect husband Mike Arnold, as Partner in our firm Arnold & Arnold. Mike has been practicing as a sole proprietor for thirteen years and has established both a practice in historic preservation as well as an architectural model shop. I bring my multifamily experience and and hope to be involved in urban revitalization of historic structures into vibrant residential communities.
