I am an assistant professor of psychology at Prairie View A&M University and am interested in social psychology research.
Research:
My research interests involve the application of social psychological theories to legal attitudes and legal processes. Specifically, I am interested in attitudes toward the criminally insane and mentally ill offenders; mental illness verdicts (e.g. NGRI and GBMI); the relationship between religion and legal processes (e.g. jury decision-making); parole decision-making; emotion; attributions; morality; and public perceptions. I am also interested in the application of effective programming in juvenile and family treatment courts, specifically collaborative programs.
Teaching:
I believe that teaching through hands-on application is the best way to transfer ideas and train students to use relevant techniques.
