In Professor Perkins' class exams are easy if you show up to class. But even then you could get away with just the lecture slides. I still recommend going to lecture though since he's very funny and very passionate about the material. There are some opportunities for extra credit too. Also, he gave rewards to those who attend the class. If I had enough time, I would add a food science minor.

I really liked Professor Perkins and this course. It was quite easy and he made it worth going to the lecture. The course is very lecture-heavy, but I learned a lot from it. The textbook is not really necessary to understand the material, but the online part of it is needed for projects. Overall, he's a great professor who made me want to take more classes in food science.
