I did not take Tier 1 Theology because Honors waived me out of it. I did not know any intro Theology. She understood so she gave the class many Theology 100 refresher lectures. She also gave exam prompts ahead of time so you could prepare. You could even send her your outlines. You would never be bored in her class.

Prof. O'Connell isn't a bad prof but she gives an insane amount of workload. I actually went to a tutor for my midterm and she said that she hadn't learned about the content we were going over until a 300 level class. It may be easier for you if you understand Theology. However, if you want an easy A, do not take Prof. O'Connell.

Awful

Theology 100 is intended to be a core class, not an advanced one. Not a single person in the class is a Theology major. She's very confusing during lectures and she'll just interrupt her own lectures with nonsense that doesn't pertain to the topic. I have been in Catholic school my entire life and I've never been more confused.

Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to taking another Theology course, but Professor O'Connell's was very interesting. She has high expectations for a core course, but honestly, I learned a lot and enjoyed being in class. It's not an easy A, but if you participate and read, then it's not hard to do well.

I liked this class, all thanks to this professor. Her lectures were interesting. You get a lot of readings, which is important as well as participation. We had some homework and a midterm and final test. You need to study for those, but she lets everyone turn in their work early and her comments are great. Overall, I recommend her class.
