Assistant Lecturer - University College / Saluki Success Program
Teaching 12 sections of UCOL 101: Saluki Success, a first-year seminar which
supports the transition of students as they enter college. Teaching two sections of
provisional students, in conjunction. Supporting students with tutoring-lab sections.
Teaching 4 sections of UCOL 103: Metacognition & Learning Strategies in the
spring. Mentoring students during office hours and via email, maintaining grades via
D2L student database, engaging in student recruitment.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
Developed and implemented two undergraduate speech courses per semester. Designed and assessed college level writing and speaking assignments. Contributed to the overall success of the program by mentoring and assisting new graduate assistants. Won the Thomas J. Pace Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching, May 2000.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
Implemented standardized curriculum for two sections of English 101 per semester. Taught English 291 (Technical Writing), English 102, and English 365 (Shakespeare) under the direction of Dr. Mary Ellen Lamb (Spring 2012). Worked closely with faculty and staff at the Achieve Program, Saluki Athletics, Center for Academic Success, and the College of Business to ensure student success. Actively mentored other new graduate instructors. In addition to the Blackboard Learning System, implemented course website to supplement instruction. Nominated for the Graduate Teaching Assistant of the Year Award, Spring 2011 & 2012.
