The 9th World Congress of Chemical Engineering
In this communication, experimental study of methane hydrate phase boundary in the presence of synthetic sea water is presented. Also, the hydrate equilibrium conditions, obtained in this work, were used to evaluate the prediction ability of three commercialized softwares including CSMGem, HydraFlash and MultiFlash. Furthermore, an in-house coding program was utilized to evaluate the predictability of a simple calculation method and compare its result with the softwares. Results indicate that all software’s predictions are in the same range of error. The simple method also can be used for estimation as the error of prediction is in the same range with tested softwares.
