I am currently a tenured professor at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA where in addition to teaching a variety of courses at the undergraduate level, I conduct research in my area of specialization, Functional Analysis. Since 2006 I have authored or coauthored more than 20 papers in theoretical mathematics. You can find the updated list here: https://kbeanland.wordpress.com/research-articles/. Since 2003 I have taught all levels of calculus, linear algebra, real analysis (graduate and undergraduate), complex analysis, functional analysis, set theory, discrete mathematics and, finally, statistics. In total I have been the advisor for five masters theses (at VCU) and two undergraduate honors theses (at W&L). In 2011, I was the recipient of the Fulbright Research Award to conduct research for four months in Athens, Greece. I have presented my research at international conferences in many different countries including: Brazil, Greece, Spain, France and the UK. During the academic year 2016-17, I will be on a research leave from Washington and Lee and so I will spend most of my time in Richmond researching and writing.
