Good
Professor Weng is amazing. I can say that he truly tried to change the class recently. So, all the previous bad reviews were inaccurate. This class is more than just a typical introductory course. But participation and homework which is not hard, make up about 50% of your grade. The exams are absolutely manageable if you take good notes though.
Good
I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, but Professor Weng really wants his students to succeed. However, the classes are very dense for an introductory-level course. The exams are very hard as well. The good thing is that the participation rate is the largest percentage of your grades. So attendance is highly advisable. Moreover, he's available outside of class and is very accessible.
Good
A lot of topics were dropped this year to make the class better for a beginner's level. There's no longer a need for compulsory study guides. Also, the tests aren't too harsh, they will be curved. If you put in the time to study, you should do okay. The professor does his best to be the cool teacher and likes when students participate in class. He's not the greatest at answering questions but he's not as terrible as previous reviews suggest.
