I am currently an instructor in the English department at the University of Illinois.
I hold a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Mississippi Center for Writers, an MA and MLitt in Creative Writing from the University of Sydney, and a BA in Technical Writing from Weber State University.
I am currently completing my first novel, a chapter of which recently accepted in RiverSedge, the literary journal of the University of Texas - Pan American. I have recently had stories appear in Chelsea Station, Polari, and Rum Punch Press.
Beyond creative writing, my research interests include queer literature and theory, and postcolonial literature and theory, specifically that of the Pacific Islands/Oceania region.
