Rowley
Las Vegas, Nevada Area
I teach and write about contract law, commercial law (including the Uniform Commercial Code and other law governing debtor-creditor relations, sales and leases of goods, and payments), economic analysis of law, and law and popular culture. I also serve as a faculty advisor to our student-edited law journals.
I have been selected as the successor author of the highly-regarded Farnsworth Contracts treatise, published by Wolters Kluwer. I also have book projects on personal property secured transactions and sales and leases of goods under contract and underway with West Academic.
I previously taught economics and public policy at the university level, engaged in economic consulting work, interned for a Texas Supreme Court justice, clerked for a U.S. Court of Appeals judge, and practiced commercial litigation and appellate law.
I am active in the Uniform Law Commission, the American Law Institute, and the American Bar Association Business Law Section, where I serve as an Academic Fellow to the Consumer Financial Services Committee and chair a task force on the ALI's Restatement of the Law of Consumer Contracts project.
I periodically serve as a consulting or testifying expert on potential or pending litigation matters and am available to do so subject to timing and (lack of) conflicts.
