I taught 4th grade at Oakland for two years and loved every minute of it! I was responsible for teaching a variety of subject areas and had a wonderful team teacher with whom I worked closely on a daily basis. I was also the head coach of the Academic Team and had a blast with the kids I coached. It was such a great experience seeing their competitive spirits as they constantly pursued a mastery of numerous subjects and content areas!

During my time at the Gatton Academy my main purpose was to provide academic assistance to the students. I hosted multiple study skills lectures to teach the students various ways to study
how to plan their studying based upon the classes they were taking
and how to write papers at the college level. I also monitored the study hours which took place at night from Sunday-Thursday every week. I met with numerous students each week to monitor their progress and help them with any area of their academics in which they needed assistance. I was also responsible for scheduling tutors to come to the Gatton Academy so that they would be available for students who needed help in various subject areas.

While at the Center for Gifted Studies I performed a variety of tasks. I assisted with data collection for the GEMS program using multiple elementary schools in the Warren County Public School district. I also assisted Dr. Roberts with some of the Masters classes she was teaching as well as any other tasks she needed performed. I thoroughly enjoyed working for Dr. Roberts at the Center for Gifted Studies. She is a true inspiration and such a wonderful advocate for gifted students!

Bowling Green City Schools
I teach Primary Talent Pool and Project Challenge classes to grades K-5 at all five elementary schools in the Bowling Green City School district. The instruction I provide to my students focuses on problem solving and critical thinking skills. I provide an enriched curriculum in my classroom that follows the district curriculum map and allows students to further explore topics that are of interest to them. This engages students in the learning process and also fosters and develops a love of learning in my students. I love my position
what I am able to accomplish with my students
and look forward to coming to work and working with my students every day! :)
