  Special Correspondent

  • Host and executive producer of Breaking Ground, a documentary series on education. Nationally distributed by Public Radio International.
  • Covers regional news with a primary emphasis on education and poverty. In previous years has also covered city/county government, healthcare, environmental and non-profit agencies in the tri-state area.
  • Develops relationships with key partners (NPR, PRI and The Atlantic) and identifies, researches and produces special programming related to education and poverty.
  • Creates media and online strategy for maximum impact while coordinating with WAMU different departments.
  • Contributes to inter/national programming including NPR programs including Morning Edition and All Things Considered, PBS NewsHour, BBC World News America, Voice of America, The Environment Report, The World, Latino USA, Kitchen Sisters, Day to Day, Radio Slovak , The Washington Post and The Atlantic.
  • Fills in as news editor and supervises full and part time reporters on deadline.
  • Participates in station fundraising and frequently represents the station at community events.
  • Frequently speaks to different stakeholders including national education organizations.
