Poor
I would not recommend Professor Dietrich. There are only four assignments and they are all weighed evenly in your grade. There are much easier SOCI credits. The lectures are so detailed it is excruciating. The tests are VERY detailed and most the notes in class don't even go into the test. If you make one B you are stuck with a B.
Good
Professor Dietrich is really sweet and funny. Her power points are straight forward and you have to skim a few readings to fill out the study guide. There is three exams with a study guide provided and one term paper that is long but not graded hard. I held a high A all semester. It's not hard if you put forth some effort. I would definitely recommend and would take again.
Awesome
I took Professor Dietrich's class for 230. I took this course for three times and wasn't getting it. In her class, everything was clear on what she's looking for. She gave reviews every test and holds reviews before the test. Just attend her class, write down the examples, and pre-write the answers on the possible shorts questions and memorize them.
Good
Professor Dietrich cares deeply about her students. She's very passionate about the material. Her class consists of three exams and a paper. She posts online readings for tests and most of the information comes from her lectures. She posts review sheets that covers, almost everything in the tests. The tests were a bit challenging, but not too bad at all. She'll give extra credit as well.
Awesome
Dr. Dietrich is an expert in the topic and makes the lectures engaging and interactive. This class only had three examinations and a 15-page term paper, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're passionate about the topics. Exams are based on lecture and reading materials available on ecampus and aren't particularly demanding. She was an easy grader on papers.
Good
Professor Dietrich is knowledgeable of her subject. She's very experienced and given that this is a level 400 course she expects a lot. Her exams were very extensive. She has many writing tasks that make you apply social theory to your life. Also, she's approachable and will explain things to you if you just ask. Her exams are hard though, but if you study, you will do well.
