I am an associate professor of Psychology at Arcadia University, and previously worked as an assistant professor at Elmhurst College. I have taught courses in cognition, cognitive neuroscience, sensation & perception, research methods, the psychology of music, introductory psychology, and cross-cultural psychology. I also work with undergraduate students on research projects in attention, memory, perception, and music cognition.
Prior to becoming a faculty member, I was a postdoctoral associate for Marvin Chun at Yale University. I used fMRI to study properties of attention, perception and learning in vision.
I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2010. While at Michigan I taught four courses in cognition and neuroscience. My dissertation topic explored distraction and multitasking in visual search.
Prior to graduate school, I worked as a research technician for Ingrid Olson at the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. We studied visual memory in healthy and amnesic participants. I earned my B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003.
