Positions

  • Graphic Communications Society

    Treasurer (Fall 2011-Fall 2012)

After declaring my Graphic Communications Management major, I decided to join the Graphic Communications Society to involve myself more in the major and meet other students with similar interests. Throughout my time in the society, we have cranked out some marvelous, hard work with great success. Every year, our group has participated in the annual Flexographic Technology Association's Phoenix Challege. Students all over the country compete in different categories, such as Execution, Research, Graphics, and Concept. We are given a proposal each year to design, execute, and print flexographic materials. Such proposals have included: items at a golf tournament, items in a college convienant store, and items at a music and arts festival. We have traveled to Indianapolis, San Antonio, and recently, San Diego, California. This past year, we really made our mark and impressed the judges (and all the participating colleges) and took home the Overall Research category for the competition. Our hard work and dedication to this competition really paid off. Not only have I developed high level of skills and experience in the Flexographic printing world, but have traveled all over the country and have networked with numerous students and potential employers.

  • Relay For Life Committee at EKU

    Marketing Chair (Fall 2011-Spring 2013)

I became apart of the Relay for Life Committee because I am a big advocate for community service. I have participated in non-profit, philanthropy events throughout my life, and Relay for Life really stuck out to me. I had never done something like this before, so I dove right in and immediately became the Marketing Chair for two straight years. Throughout the entire year, our team prepped hard and long for the 12 hour event in the Spring. As Marketing Chair, I worked on the promotional aspect of the event. I created flyers, banners, posters, and any marketing materials necessary for Relay events throughout the year.
