My research interests broadly involve the intersection of capitalist globalism, neoliberalism, and transnationalism, which further encompass the political economy of migration and the precarious labour market. More specifically, I am interested in the global race for knowledge and knowledge workers, and their implication for contemporary Western nation building. In this context, I explore the intersection of race, gender, and migration in labour markets. In my social work research and practice, I adopt collaborative and community-based approaches that foreground the values of equity, inclusivity, and social justice. As a social work educator and researcher, I am interested in working with individuals, families, and communities addressing the problem of poverty, group alienation, racial discrimination, and inequality in life. I look at these issues through anti-oppression and anti-racism into social work theory, research, and practice. My Social Work experiences involve working with refugees and immigrants in their socio-economic, civic and cultural integration into host society; poverty, race/racism, domestic violence, and substance abuse.
