Review of \"Destination Dixie\"
Review of \"Destination Dixie\"
Review of \"This Warring Nation\"
Review of \"Show Thyself A Man:Georgia State Troops Colored
1865-1905\"
I am working on a seminar paper about the evolution of college football from a popular but segmented sport into a national phenomenon
focusing on the 1926 and 1927 Rose Bowls
featuring the Alabama Crimson Tide. I'm looking at how UA's success in these games helped propel college football into a national sport but I am also looking at the other technological and cultural aspects of the 1920s that made this change possible. I've revised this work to demonstrate how university officials actively pursued football as a way to increase the University's reputation. This was part of a larger push by southern elites to reduce the image of the \"problem south.\"

\"Soldier Boys and Military Men: Growing Up at War

Seminar Paper on Familial Relations in the American Civil War
I look into the relationships between sons at war and their parents at home during the American Civil War. I am looking at how the war interrupted the natural progression of a young man's life and how it prevented him from achieving \"manhood.\"
