2013 the Larchmont Manor Park Society and Vintage 1891 hosted a special event
Ebb and Flow
the exhibition aspect organized by resident artist Wendy Popp featuring local artists; to raise funds to help restore Larchmont Manor Park after damage from Hurricane Sandy.\n\nLarchmont Manor Park
Long Island Sound and Manor Beach were the inspiration for the collection of original paintings
photographs and other artistic tributes that had generously donated for auction by local professional artists who had prepared works that reflected their impressions from a native’s point of view.\n\nSpecial objects were salvaged from the Park that were sold
which included stools made from the fallen historic trees
cuttings from of the landscape
and path stones for a new walkway.\n\nThe exhibition of artworks and artifacts were on display January 24th through January 30th 12 pm-10pm Daily.\n\nEbb and Flow
the exhibition
culminated with a lcocktail party at Vintage 1891 on January 30. \n\nThe contributions have helped repair the damage from the last two storms of 2012 substantially. Both had ravaged the Larchmont shoreline and areas throughout Larchmont Manor Park; sea wall foundations had been weakened
numerous
magnificent trees had been uprooted
walkways had been lifted
and the beach pavilion had been severely compromised.\nThe Park still faces most notable challenges and vulnerability to rising sea waters in the future and is still in recovery.\n\n

The Exhibition
was made available for the public to view at The Museum of American Illustration at The Society of Illustrators on September 10
2011. \n\nThe book is a reflection on the memorial exhibition that was held in response to the heart rendering events of September 11
2001. Artists of an international community had responded with imagery that honored the heroism and humanity demonstrated by countless individuals in the wake of the tragedy at Ground Zero. \n\nThe book was authored by a global community of artists answered with a naturally creative and deep sense of duty to document
validate and inspire. Their response was generous. Over 600 artists had registered. Their work earned over 25
000 dollars which was distributed through several funds benefiting those victims of the World Trade Center Disaster. \n\nA decade hadpassed

The Exhibition will help mark the 10th anniversary of one of the darkest periods in the history of New York City with a small collection of the work which describes an artistic response to the compelling courage it took to prevail beyond it. The works within the pages were a selection which toured after the initial exhibition to such additional venues as the United Nations
The New-York Historical Society
The Huntington Museum and The Wethersfield Historical Society in 2002. Every artist
supporter and volunteer who participated had been named in the book.\n\n
