32nd Annual Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology, Orlando, FL.

Featured Top Poster Fake employer websites were created using wix.com to experimentally manipulate the messages conveyed to participants. Approximately one-to-three weeks after completing a questionnaire measuring attitudes and demographics, participants viewed the websites displaying Corporate Social Performance (CSP), a firm’s social behavior, that was either a) pro-environmental, b) pro-diversity, or c) pro-family-work balance. Findings revealed that while actual match between the participants’ values and the organizations’ values was predictive of recruitment outcomes, this effect was mediated by participants’ perceived fit with the organization. The benefit of communicating positive social behaviors is implied, particularly for organizations seeking to target specific populations.
