Julie
Dunlap
Baltimore, Maryland Area
Whether writing, editing, or teaching, I work to examine and enhance human relationships with the natural world. Writing and editing projects have ranged from picture books and early readers to academic articles, literary essays, annual reports, grants, blogs, and nature center exhibits. My undergraduate teaching focuses on ecology, sustainability, and environmental management, history, and values.
I also have experience initiating and managing programs (e.g., the Green Footprint Award for environmental leaders in Howard County, and the schoolyard habitat grant program of the Audubon Society of Central Maryland) and organizing events (e.g., Aldo Leopold Weekend for the Robinson Foundation and Kids to Parks Day for Howard County).
Current projects include research into early sustainability education as practiced at the Yale Forest School circa 1900. I'm always looking for new projects where I can pursue my passion for protecting the natural environment and the people who depend upon it.
