Over ten years of experience working in higher education, community organizations, and local/state/national/international organizations. Currently, educating multi-generational students in social transformational disciplines at a large public institution of higher education. In addition, changing the local economy as a small business owner of a self-started organic home-based vegan bakery, a socially and environmentally responsible bakery that undertakes and supports community initiatives geared towards the betterment of people in less affluent Phoenix communities. Passions include, but not limited to, college access and continuing education, environmental sustainability, sustainable food systems, and Eco-friendly education to less affluent communities.       Overseen the advancement and student initiatives of a paraprofessional student organization of over 350 members aimed at providing awareness resources and knowledge for K-12 students to build and develop a pathway to college through dedicating over 955 hours of service. Overseen a university Mentorship Program aimed at mentoring high school students. Actively recruited and increased membership of the paraprofessional student organization while coordinating service opportunities for underrepresented, low socio-economic status, and underserved communities and first generation college students. Directly managed and trained the student executive board, service-learning interns, student workers and a general body membership of 350+ student volunteers. Complied monthly data reports on growth, retention and community impact of membership and service opportunities. Coordinated and implementation of campus visits, tours, and special events.

Watson believes that sometimes people may end up changing their major because they become interested in a course they were required to take. Watson enjoys taking the gen-eds that fulfill the Global Awareness, Historical Awareness and Cultural Diversity in the U.S. requirements that all ASU students must take. “I feel that gen-eds are there as a ‘just in case’ and also may help you on refreshing your skills for grad school,” Watson said.
