As an Assistant Professor of Biology at Grinnell College, Grinnell, IA, I get to teach, mentor and learn with a fantastic group of smart and motivated students. My teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Biological Inquiry: Symmetry Breaking (BIO150); Molecules, Cells and Organisms with lab (BIO251); Advanced Cell Biology (BIO370); and lab instructor for Introduction to Biological Chemistry (BCM262). I am also developing a new advanced course called Principles of Pharmacology. Additionally, I maintain an active research program in which I use frog (Xenopus laevis) oocytes, eggs and embryos to study the role of cytoskeletal systems in different biological processes.
