He is really amazing! D/B weekly but he makes it really interesting. There are also weekly quizzes (save for midterm and final) and one paper on any West Civ topic. He follows the syllabus and gives great comments and suggestions. You would really have to struggle to fail his course. I highly recommend this prof!

I absolutely adored this course, as Professor Stoll really did his best to give you freedom on his assignments. Instead of just letting people do reading from the textbook, you were given a practical lecture to cover everything. After taking this as a 7-week class I'd definitely recommend it.

Professor Stoll was a delight and an inspiration! He cares about his students and the subject, as seen by the other reviews. I'm not a big fan of history, but he made it look like a movie in his class. We had weekly discussion boards with 4-5 exercises, weekly quizzes. He's very responsive! If you do the work, you'll get an A.
