Good
Professor Ruiz really is a great professor. I didn't have any coding experience prior to entering his classroom and I still did well. It's a language that you have to practice though, so you need to put in the effort no matter who you choose. He really does care about the students and he did a good job of explaining the concepts. Just put in the work and you'll get it back!
Good
Professor Caskey is the only one that I can honestly say genuinely cares about her students in and outside the classroom. I've never come across a nicer professor who goes so far out of her way to make sure you have every chance at success with the material and the course. Truly a rare gem at University of Toronto.
Good
At first, attendance wasn't mandatory, but Prof. Ruiz changed it after 8 weeks in and would also give an in-class quiz to record attendance. Besides the ethics part, he gives 1 homework assignment which he also gives plenty of in-class time for. Final was exactly his review powerpoint. You actually don't have to pay attention in lecture at all. However, difficulty of lab depends on TA assigned.
