Adjunct Professor, History & Social Sciences
Jorge worked at Miami Dade College as a Adjunct Professor, History & Social Sciences
Master of Arts (M.A.)
History
My graduate studies in History at FIU focused on Modern European History and the relatively new field of Historical Memory - the nexus between historical events and how they are remembered. As such, my graduate thesis centered on the Spanish Civil War - an event that has received little study, but was significant in that it was a dress rehearsal for World War II.
This training has provided me with unique insights that are indispensable to my studies in National Security by allowing me to have a greater understanding of the beliefs and attitudes that drive terrorist activities.
Master of Science (M.S.)
National Security Affairs (Homeland Security & Cybersecurity)
The M.S. in National Security Affairs program at Nova Southeastern University - recognized as a "Center of Academic Excellence" by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security - is a multidisciplinary program designed to provide graduates with a core understanding of critical issues informing the field of national security today, including the assessment analysis of intelligence collection and analysis of the threat of terrorism in the U.S. and beyond.
My areas of expertise within this emerging field of study are in Homeland Security and Cybersecurity - two specialized fields that are vital to maintain our nation's security against the growing threats posed by both state and non-state actors in the 21st century.
