Awful
I made a big mistake in taking this online class. The lectures are one to two hours long and are extremely boring unless you're a geography lover like him. The quizzes and exams are short, leaving no room for forgetting the two or three words out of the lecture that he asks questions about. A terrible class overall.
Good
After taking this online class I can say that it was great. The lectures are entertaining and there is a single short paper. His tests are oriented towards memorization however, so if that isn't your thing you might want to pass. Overall this was an interesting class and a good job was done by Professor Smith.
Average
For the online class, Doctor Smith posts around 2 one hour long lectures every week, which basically will need to be copied word for word if you want to get a good grade on quizzes and exams. He will grade off of specific comments that he made in class. His lectures are really beautiful in terms of music and art, but they need to be put on 2X speed because they are so slow.
Awful
If you are reading this and you have the option to take another geography course, DO IT! Professor Smith makes his class incredibly difficult. Some of the stuff on the exams aren't covered in the readings or lectures, and the test questions are designed to trick you. I spent more time on this class than on my fourth year classes. If you can get out, do it!
Awesome
I really loved Prof. Smith's class! Class was lecture-based so I would suggest you really show up and pay attention. He gives quizzes in class as well, so it's really important that you attend classes. He gives homework which count against you if you don't do it. He's very wholesome and he actually sings in class sometimes!
Good
Professor Smith made geography as interesting as possible. His lectures were like telling a story. There are 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester, but they're not bad. His exams are difficult if you don't take good notes during class. He gives up to eight points on your average, at the end of the semester. Luckily, there's no textbook, so no outside reading.
Average
As an online non-major course, Professor Smith's class is tough. There are two videos to watch per week, each of which is about an hour. And two readings per week, each reading takes about an hour of analysis time. All questions about exams and quizzes are in the conference material. So don't expect to find anything in Quizlet or Chegg. On the other hand, he's very knowledgeable.
