John has gained extensive industry experience in hospitality management. He has coupled industry experience with a B.S. in Hotel Administration from Cornell and a PhD in marketing from the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M. He has used this knowledge to help organizations create a sustainable competitive advantages. He is co-author along with Philip Kotler of the leading hospitality marketing textbook in the world, which is currently published in nine languages.
John spent ten years in Las Vegas, where he worked with both casino resorts and gaming equipment manufacturers to help them understand players' consumer behavior. After arriving in Houston, home of the World's largest medical center, John has helped hospitals create a more patient centric environment using the principles of hospitality management.
John's familiarity with research principles has taught him how to research, support and defend statements. This makes him an ideal expert witness. John has an international reputation for his leadership in hospitality education and is frequently called upon to review and help set-up educational programs.
