He teaches more of the proofs, not the computational side. If you read BEFORE class, everything makes sense. Do not rely on his lectures, the homework will be more difficult. If you read the textbook, everything will make sense.

Prof. Pike clearly knows his stuff. However, he doesn't do well in explaining it to students. He has a fast pacing and he's always open to questions, but I often find myself struggling to formulate my questions. On the other hand, his office hours are really helpful.
