Don't let his humor fool you. When you're alone with him, his true nature shows. He isn't nice at all and treats you terribly. If he thinks you're cheating, he'll flunk you for the entire course, even if you're not. A lot of good students failed because of him and had to give extra time and money to make it up. If I didn't have some previous knowledge, I'd fail too.
